My First Bike Just found out
today, there aren't many of these around. My friend at church wants to
by one...mine! The dealer said people are keeping them because they are
so easy to ride and get good MPG. I decided to get one, looked online
and the first one i looked at was a Rebel and the VLX. They were less
than 10 miles from me in a garage. I road the Rebel and noticed this
black beauty next to it. Took it for a spin (with little riding
experience) and it felt great. On the downside, I can do without the
rattles and the expensive parts/service stuff. The gas cap lip and tank
compete with the stock muffler to be heard. I need to get some good
pipes but Honda wants BIG BUCKS. Tried to replace the spark plugs and
can't find the tool to do it. Non fit. The tool kit was missing when I
bought it. Haven't checked the price yet...afraid too. Saves gas but
don't have a flat. Amazing what they get for tires...close to $190 for
just the rear. I don't plan on selling it but wish there were some ways
to save on expensive parts/service. |
Thanks to Larry for submitting this personal review. Larry says, "VLX
600 Shadow 2003, my first bike. I bought it to ride to work after gas
prices blew their top. I ride to church taking the back road around Lake
Lewisville. Love the gas mileage: about 60 mpg. I'm not a heavy guy, for
sure. ."
