Dedicated to the women who RIDE THEIR OWN motorcycles
Honda Rebel 250cc
submitted by Chris S.
This was not my first choice of a motorcycle. I would've
preferred something with more oomph. I found it top heavy for its size
and I tip toe it. The combination made me uneasy. I share this bike with
my husband (we ride at different times - not 2 up) who is my height with
a 28 inch inseam. He does not tip toe it (amazing what 3 inches can do).
Luckily it is not a heavy bike (only 305 lbs) so I've only dropped it
once -when I forgot to put the kickstand down while getting OFF the
bike. Just a "duh" moment. It has been a good learning bike and would
recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to ride but is uneasy about
big bikes. If you are like me and are not concerned with the size of the
motor I'd recommend a slightly more powerful bike to start(500-600cc).
I've taken the Rebel to 3 states and by this weekend(Oct03) will be able
to add a fourth. My only real major complaint is that top speed without
altering the bike in anyway is 70 mph on its on (though drafting off a
big rig while going down hill I have reached 85mph). This can be
problematic if riding on the interstate system in the United States were
most other automobiles average 75-80 mph.
Thanks to Chris for submitting this personal review. Chris says, "2003
Honda Rebel 250 (Lil' Boy Blue) I am 5'4" with a 25 inch inseam (yep you
read that right - 25 inches!) Most ladies my height average out at a
30-28 inch inseam, but I am short with a long torso. I ride with the
